Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR)
IGIDR is an advanced research
institute established and completely funded by the Reserve
Bank of India (RBI). The primary mandate of the Institute is to carry out research on development issues from a multidisciplinary point of view.
IGIDR was registered as an autonomous society
in November 1986 and as a public trust in January 1987. It was inaugurated by
the Late. Shri Rajiv Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India, in December
1987. Subsequently, IGIDR was recognized as a Deemed University
under Section 3 of the UGC Act.
