Educational
Qualification:
- Junior Overman (Trainee): Must possess a diploma in mining or mining engineering approved by the Central Government, a valid Overman's
Certificate of Competency from DGMS under Coal Mines Regulation 2017, and
a valid First Aid Certificate.
- Mining Sirdar (Selection Grade-I):
- Option 1: Diploma/Degree in any subject (other than mining) + DGMS Mining
Sirdar Certificate + First Aid Certificate.
- Option 2: Diploma in Mining + DGMS Overman Competency Certificate + First
Aid Certificate.
Age
Limit (as of 01.02.2026):
- Junior Overman: UR-30, OBC-33, SC/ST-35 Years.
- Mining Sirdar: UR-30, OBD-33, SC-35, ST-35 Years.
4. Selection

The selection is strictly merit-based and

1. Written Test: A 100-mark objective MCQ exam lasting 120 minutes with no negative
marking.
o Part I: General
Aptitude (30 Questions).
o Part II: Subject
Knowledge (70 Questions).
2. Qualifying Marks: 50% for UR/OBC and 40% for SC/ST candidates.
